Our Story
How a single gathering at a fuel station in Achimota grew into LifeCheck: Ghana's annual free medical outreach and back-to-school programme.
How It Started
In 2014, Empowerment Worship Centre gathered around 400 people at a Shell Filling Station in Achimota for a single afternoon of free medical checks. There was no grand plan for what it would become: just a conviction, drawn from 1 John 3:17, that faith without action for people in need isn't faith at all. That conviction became LifeCheck's guiding theme: “Love and Action.”
What began as a one-day outreach has run every year since (pausing only during the height of COVID-19), growing alongside the community's needs: first adding back-to-school support for children, then expanding medical services to include surgery, ultrasound scanning, dental care, and NHIS registration.

Who We Are
LifeCheck is run by Empowerment Care Foundation, the humanitarian arm of Empowerment Worship Centre (EWC), led by Prophet Gideon Danso. Where the church exists to build people up in faith, the Foundation exists to meet the practical needs standing in the way of that: healthcare, education, and dignity for communities that are too often overlooked.
